Reporting directly to the Senior Director and Training Director of CAPS, the Psychology Intern provides brief psychotherapy related to issues of personal, academic and social adjustment to a culturally diverse student population while under the supervision of licensed psychologists. The Psychology Intern is also responsible for crisis intervention, referral, outreach, and scheduled 24 hour emergency consultation. As part of the larger staff in Student Life, the Psychology Intern collaborates and cooperates across divisions and departments to create a supportive University community which encourages student learning and development in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. This role involves promoting a common good, engaging differences, providing experiences that challenge students, drawing out leadership qualities, and creating an environment that supports a socially responsible way of being together in a community, while recognizing and celebrating the achievements and contributions of all students.
