About The Position

Clinical & Children's Services provides children's mental health support, using a coordinated, wholistic approach to supporting children, youth and families through a range of specialized programs. As a regional service delivery agency, we provide our services in the City of Thunder Bay and across the Robinson Superior Treaty area (District of Thunder Bay) to the 13 First Nations we serve. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team and under the direction of the Program Manager, the Clinical Psychologist will ensure the developmental, psycho-social needs, and treatment of children and youth are met. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Psychologist is to provide psychological assessment, consultation, and treatment services for children and youth consistent with the cultural philosophy, approach, goals, and learning environment Dilico is founded on. This will ensure the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children and youth are met. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours and to travel across the service area, to meet clients' needs. A valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral Degree in Psychology with emphasis on clinical child, adolescent and family psychology.
  • Registration and excellent standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • Two or more years' experience in the provision of psychological services in children’s mental health or a related field, preferably with Anishinabek children, youth and their families.
  • Satisfactory CAS Penlieu Search.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Search.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Program Manager or designate in relation to service requirements.
  • Must be willing to travel and provide services within the Dilico service area.
  • Must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended.
  • Medical recommended but not mandatory.
