About The Position

The Contract Psychologist provides outpatient behavioral health services, including psychotherapy and psychological evaluations, on an independent basis. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical care, conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, and producing clear, timely, and clinically sound documentation. The Psychologist may collaborate with other providers, as appropriate, to support diagnostic clarity and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Demonstrated competency in both psychotherapy and psychological assessment
  • Strong clinical writing skills, particularly in integrated assessment reporting
  • Ability to work independently and manage a part-time clinical caseload
  • Experience working with child and adolescent populations
  • Experience conducting ADHD, diagnostic, and/or behavioral evaluations
  • Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and/or adults in an outpatient setting
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities appropriate to presenting concerns
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as clinically indicated
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including diagnostic, cognitive, behavioral, and/or emotional assessments
  • Perform clinical interviews, administer and score standardized instruments, and interpret results
  • Prepare integrated psychological reports with diagnostic impressions and recommendations
  • Communicate findings to clients and referral sources, as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ensure documentation meets payer requirements and applicable regulatory standards
  • Adhere to HIPAA and all applicable federal and state laws regarding confidentiality and record-keeping
  • Coordinate with referring providers or agency staff, as needed, to support client care
  • Participate in case consultation at the discretion of the contractor
  • Maintain active licensure and required continuing education
  • Adhere to professional and ethical standards of psychological practice
  • Independently manage caseload, scheduling, and clinical approach within the scope of services offered
  • Maintain professional liability insurance (if not otherwise provided)
  • Ensure timely completion of evaluation reports within agreed-upon turnaround times
  • Provide services in a manner consistent with organizational quality standards and client care expectations
  • Operate as an independent contractor and not as an employee of the organization
