About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a civilian Psychologist at Minot Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota. This position offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of our Nation's military personnel. The role involves providing Primary Care Behavioral Health services through individual appointments, walk-ins, and group settings. The psychologist will work with an adult population, primarily active duty and their families (no children), with an average age of 20-30 years old, addressing diagnoses such as depression, suicide, and family issues. Support is available from a Mental Health Nurse, Family Medicine Physician, Nurse Practitioners, and LPNs, with a Mental Health Clinic available for more severe cases. The position involves conducting applied research and clinical investigations, applying psychological procedures and techniques for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. Duties also include attending various meetings, maintaining accurate records, and participating in military-specific training.

Requirements

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology Doctor of Philosophy (PsyD) or Doctor Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a degree in clinical or counseling psychology
Successful completion from an APA approved internship
1 year of experience in the independent practice of clinical psychology in a mental health setting working with an adult population
License to practice as a psychologist in any State

Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts, as required.
Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress) Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol, and drug treatment evaluations.

Responsibilities

Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.
Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology. Clinical/Counseling Psychology.
Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psych diagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
