Psychologist - Suitability Law Enforcement
About The Position
Valor Healthcare is seeking licensed psychologists to conduct virtual psychological evaluations for candidates in the Forest Ranger program, supporting the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Office of Public Protection (OPP). This is a long-term contract position as a 1099 independent contractor, with hours fluctuating weekly/monthly. The role requires excellent writing skills to translate clinical judgment into clear recommendations for employment decisions, timely and accurate documentation, in-person evaluations, and exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- PsyD or PhD from an accredited doctoral program.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted NY state license.
- Must have at least three (3) years of prior experience in assessing the suitability of candidates for employment as police officers/law enforcement.
- Experienced in one or more Electronic Health Records
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)
- Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Must have excellent writing skills, with the ability to translate sound clinical judgment into clear and appropriate recommendations for initial or continued employment.
- Complete and submit all required documentation expeditiously and accurately in the required format.
- Provide in-person evaluations.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
