The Midwest Children's Resource Center is a hospital-based Child Advocacy Center that provides medical diagnosis, psychological assessment, and treatment for children and their families affected by physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. In addition, they are available for telephone consultation 24/7 for child protection, law enforcement agencies, physicians, therapists, attorneys, and concerned parents. MCRC also offers an innovative community-delivered healthcare intervention for runaway youth. This position is .8 FTE working 4 days per week. Assess and treat children ranging in age from preschool to pre-teen who are suspected or confirmed victims of maltreatment, primarily sexual and physical abuse. Utilize appropriate trauma assessment tools and provide trauma-focused psychotherapy. Remain current on evidence-based interventions related to trauma. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will participate in case conferences and coordinate with various professionals at Children’s MN and in the community to provide a comprehensive range of client services. Referrals received from investigative agencies, emergency departments, primary care and mental health providers, child protection services, schools, parents, self-referrals and a variety of community agencies. Provide training to professionals interested in expanding their knowledge and skill in medical evaluation, interviewing children, psychological assessment, and treating abused children.
