About The Position

The Mental Health Center is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their team. This position will be responsible for administering psychological evaluations to children and adults with an emphasis on evaluations to 0–5-year-olds. In this position, you will also complete developmental disability (DD), autism, and neuropsychological evaluations to both children and adults. The Mental health Center receives referrals for both voluntary and court-ordered assessments from our county partners. The Mental Health Center (MHC) is a state-licensed outpatient clinic and part of Hennepin County's Public Health Clinical Services. The Mental Health Center’s team of support and provider professionals provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to adults with serious mental illness as well as those with co-occurring substance use disorders. Additionally, the Mental Health Center serves children, adolescents, and families, many of whom are involved with other county programs. Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-approved program with appropriate clinical training and one or more years of post-doctoral experience as a clinical psychologist in a medical or mental health setting appropriate to the area of specialization.
  • Licensed psychologist by the Minnesota Board of Psychology.

  • Communicate both verbally and in writing in Spanish, Somali, or Hmong.
  • Utilize interpreter services.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychological evaluations to children 0 - 5 years old.
  • Complete DD, autism, and neuropsychological evaluations to youth (birth to 17) and adults.
  • Conduct court-ordered and voluntary psychological and parenting evaluations, including administration/interpretation of personality and intelligence tests, to provide a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s mental health needs and to develop treatment recommendations.
  • Record patient progress notes and attendance.
  • Provide informal and formal consultation on diagnosis, treatment, and other psychological issues to other mental health professionals, government agencies, community organization, and/or schools.
  • Review and sign off on psychological evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes compiled by non-licensed psychologists and graduate students.
  • Assist in maintaining standards for clinic accreditation by health management organizations, internship program accreditation by the American Psychological Association, and state licensure.
  • Complete necessary documentation to bill health management organizations and other payers for client services.
  • Provide court testimony pertaining to psychological assessments of clients.
