About The Position

The Psychological Testing Assistant supports the administration and scoring of psychological assessments for children and adolescents. This role is essential in ensuring accurate diagnostic evaluation, particularly for developmental, behavioral, and attention-related disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADHD). The assistant works closely with licensed psychologists and clinical staff to support high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Development, or a related field required.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents strongly preferred.
  • Experience with psychological or educational testing preferred.
  • Familiarity with developmental and attention disorders (e.g., ASD, ADHD).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in scoring and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a clinical setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Willingness to train and mentor new hires in the role.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving clinical protocols and testing tools.
  • Provide back-up support for Mental Health Coordinator as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Administer standardized psychological and developmental assessments to children and adolescents under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
  • Provide clear instructions and guidance to patients and guardians throughout the testing process.
  • Ensure a supportive, structured, and child-appropriate testing environment.
  • Fill in for Mental Health Coordinator as needed to maintain continuity of client scheduling.
  • Accurately score a variety of cognitive, behavioral, and developmental assessments.
  • Complete service notes with comprehensive behavioral observations.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date testing records.
  • Ensure all documentation meets clinical, legal, and organizational standards.
  • Adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements (HIPAA) and ethical guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and team members.
  • Provide basic education and support to guardians regarding testing procedures and expectations.
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure timely completion of evaluations and reports.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new Psychological Testing Assistants.
  • Help standardize workflows, scoring procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and quality assurance.
