Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update psychological assessments to support treatment planning
  • Provide individual and group therapy to improve emotional and psychological functioning
  • Apply intervention strategies during crisis situations to promote patient stability
  • Conduct psychological evaluations by administering approved tests to answer referral questions
  • Share psychological information with staff to assist in forming appropriate treatment and discharge plans
  • Participate in required training to maintain high professional competency
