This position is located at the Arkansas State Hospital, a 24/7 behavioral health facility, in Little Rock.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in psychological testing, cognitive assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of clinical psychology, behavioral science, and neuropsychology.
  • Ability to interpret psychological data and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, forensic psychology, and developmental disorders.
  • Clear, professional verbal and written reporting to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to assess complex psychological data and make sound clinical judgments.
  • Ensuring accuracy in assessments, records, and diagnostic reports.
  • Proficiency in providing evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • At least one year of supervised experience in psychological evaluation, assessment, and counseling.
  • Completion of academic coursework necessary for a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical interviews and psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological tests and diagnostic tools.
  • Assess individuals for neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, trauma-related conditions, and psychiatric illnesses.
  • Prepare detailed psychological reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Utilize evidence-based diagnostic criteria (DSM-5, ICD-10) to determine mental health conditions.
  • Perform suicide risk assessments, behavioral evaluations, and crisis intervention screenings.
  • Provide risk assessments for individuals involved in legal, correctional, or child welfare systems.
  • Make referrals for psychiatric, therapeutic, or rehabilitative services when needed.
  • Work closely with clinicians, case managers, law enforcement, and social service professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Assist in determining eligibility for mental health or disability services based on psychological evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, including group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and behavioral management.
  • All services are provided under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist.
