About The Position

This position is responsible for all psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and related medication reviews and psychiatric discharge summaries within the Primary Care Mental Health department. The role involves participation in medical staff meetings and committees, consultation and training of staff, utilization review, and on-call availability. A monthly schedule of hours at Tarzana Treatment Center will be provided to the Clinical Director prior to the start of each month. The position also requires completion of the credentialing, privileging, and Medical Staff application/re-application process.

Requirements

• Current California State License in Psychiatry
• Medical Doctor with Psychiatric specialty
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations.
• Perform medication consultations.
• Participate in Medical Staff meetings and committees, including peer review, as requested.
• Provide consultation and training to staff, as requested.
• Conduct Utilization Review, including phone calls to physicians and case managers, when requested.
• Be available for on-call duties, as needed.
• Adhere to a monthly schedule of hours working at Tarzana Treatment Center, to be provided to the Clinical Director.
• Complete the credentialing, privileging, and Medical Staff application/re-application process.
