About The Position

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for its inpatient facility. This role primarily focuses on child and adolescent patients, with potential to see adults as needed. The position offers flexibility with either a W-2 employment model with benefits or a Fee for Service (1099) option. The hospital has been serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast for over 33 years, providing a comprehensive range of treatment options. Psychiatrists will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. There is also potential for additional earnings through extra call options and a productivity bonus plan. The role includes supervision of a Nurse Practitioner on the unit.

Requirements

Mississippi medical license and DEA in good standing or eligibility to obtain it.
Must be comfortable treating child-adult populations.
Board Certification in General Psychiatry or BC in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry a plus.
Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship program preferred.
Full time hours.

Responsibilities

Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
Supervision of NP on unit.
Participation in meetings when requested by CEO.
