About The Position

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for their inpatient child/adolescent unit. This position offers flexibility with either a W-2 employment model with benefits or a Fee for Service (1099) option. The role primarily focuses on child and adolescent patients, with the potential to see adult patients as needed. The hospital has been serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast for over 33 years, providing a comprehensive range of treatment options. Requirements

  • Mississippi medical license and DEA in good standing or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Must be comfortable treating child-adult populations. Primary daily caseload will be child and adolescent ages. Will see adults as needed.
  • Board Certification in General Psychiatry or BC in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry a plus.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship program preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Outpatient potential if interested.
  • Weekend call participation is preferred but not required for fee for service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
  • Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Supervision of NP on unit.
  • Participation in meetings when requested by CEO.
