About The Position

The Refuge, A Healing Place, is a premier residential treatment center dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults facing mental health challenges, trauma, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to helping patients achieve lasting healing and recovery in a supportive, therapeutic environment. We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful psychiatric care in a residential setting while collaborating with experienced behavioral health professionals.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain licensure)
Current DEA registration
Experience treating patients with behavioral health and co-occurring disorders preferred
Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
Board certification in psychiatry
Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
Provide medication management for residential patients.
Perform weekly psychiatric follow-up visits.
Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans.
Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and Advanced Practice Providers to coordinate patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using BestNotes electronic medical records.
Participate in on-call coverage two days per week.
Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
