About The Position

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and WVU School of Medicine’s Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry seek a psychiatrist for Healthy Minds Moundsville in Moundsville, West Virginia, and Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, West Virginia. Academic ranks available are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

The role includes psychiatric practice in Reynolds Memorial Hospital’s Behavioral Health Unit and the Healthy Minds Moundsville outpatient clinic, with collaboration with other primary care clinics in the surrounding area. The Behavioral Health Unit serves adults age 18 and older and provides comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment, including psychiatric evaluation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment, group and individual therapy, cognitive and educational activities, and 24-hour nursing care. The average call coverage is one week per month, and call and rounding may be conducted via telemedicine.

Healthy Minds Moundsville is a behavioral medicine outpatient clinic where psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, clinical therapists, and medical assistants collaboratively care for more than 800 patients monthly. Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit acute-care community hospital and part of the WVU Health System.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible for state medical licensure.
• Completion of a psychiatry residency program.
• Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Practice psychiatry in the Behavioral Health Unit at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
• Provide psychiatric care in the Healthy Minds Moundsville outpatient clinic.
• Collaborate with other primary care clinics in the local surrounding area.
• Assist with evening and weekend call coverage.
• Participate in call coverage and rounding, which may be conducted via telemedicine.
