The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to adults participating in Goodwill NY/NJ's Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program. The Psychiatrist serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, promoting recovery, wellness, community integration, and successful achievement of each participant's personal goals, including employment, education, independent living, and overall health. Working within the PROS model and New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations, the Psychiatrist provides trauma-informed, person-centered, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented psychiatric services. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, managing co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, consulting with clinical staff, and collaborating with primary care providers and community partners to ensure integrated, high-quality care. The Psychiatrist contributes to program quality improvement initiatives, supports regulatory compliance, and provides clinical leadership to promote evidence-based practices that improve participant outcomes.
