Claratel Behavioral Health is an innovative, community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services organization located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, offering a full range of mental health services, developmental disabilities programs and addiction treatment to more than 7,000 citizens annually who are uninsured and underinsured. As a public, not-for-profit organization, Claratel Behavioral Health operates in more than 20 locations in DeKalb County with a diverse workforce of more than 400 direct care and support staff. Our staff of physicians, nurses, clinicians and support personnel are dedicated to helping our clients and their families recover from these debilitating disabilities and resume productive lives. Claratel Behavioral Health is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This is a full-time on-site opportunity in an outpatient behavioral health setting. The primary location will be our Winn Way clinic; however, this role may provide services and support across all OP clinics in DeKalb County.

Requirements

  • Adult Psychiatrist.
  • GA State Medical License and DEA.
  • Currently Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • High ethical standards demonstrated in all aspects of medical practice.
  • Able to work as part of clinical and medical teams that promote learning, excellence, and optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Critical thinking, exemplary interpersonal skills, and a consistent, contributing demeanor is required.
  • Must have computer skills with ability to use an electronic health record and other applications efficiently.
  • Ability to work from a person-centered, recovery oriented, and trauma informed philosophy in client care.

Nice To Haves

  • Addiction and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes psychiatric diagnostic assessments and follow ups and makes recommendations for treatment within an evidence-based framework.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions.
  • Provides consultation regarding client care to clinical staff.
  • Actively contributes to the treatment center and organization through on-going collaborative efforts.
  • Serves Adults only.
  • May serve clients who are part of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program.
  • Provides administrative support to agency in medical matters in the absence of the Medical Director.
  • May serve as the delegating or designated physician and provide medical supervision to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Georgia Composite Medical Board and applicable Georgia Board of Nursing guidelines.
