About The Position

Mayo Clinic’s Department of Psychiatry and Psychology in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking an outstanding adult psychiatrist to join the Division of Outpatient Consultation. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, team-based outpatient consultative care. This position is centered in a consultative outpatient practice within a state-of-the-art, quaternary care medical center, offering the opportunity to work with medically and neurologically complex patients. Psychiatrists collaborate closely with colleagues across specialties to evaluate and manage the psychiatric aspects of complex illness, including functional neurologic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and other conditions at the interface of medicine and psychiatry. The practice draws from a national and international referral base, creating a uniquely rich and intellectually engaging clinical environment. There are opportunities to develop and refine subspecialty expertise in areas such as geriatrics, neuropsychiatry, mood disorders, or psychosomatic medicine. The role includes strong mentorship for academic productivity and professional growth, with opportunities for scholarly work and collaborative research. Academic rank in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine will be granted commensurate with experience. Opportunities to teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students are available. The outpatient psychiatrist will join a multidisciplinary team of 15 other psychiatrists, 11 psychologists, and 4 advanced practice providers. This position is based in Rochester, Minnesota. Opportunities for part-time work are available.

Requirements

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.
  • Experience in consultative outpatient practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Interest in working with medically and neurologically complex patients.
