Behavioral health services are supported by multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and care coordinators, ensuring comprehensive care for patients across the continuum of mental health needs. The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join its growing behavioral health team in Shelton, Connecticut. This full-time, permanent position offers a balanced schedule with primarily outpatient responsibilities and limited call coverage. The psychiatrist will work closely with an experienced team of clinicians to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a supportive, collaborative, and academically affiliated environment. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure

  • Prior clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric treatment planning
  • Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders using evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate patient care
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when appropriate
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, peer review activities, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support organizational goals related to patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and behavioral health integration
  • Remain current with developments in psychiatry through continuing medical education and professional development activities
