About The Position

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Four (4) to seven (7) years of internship and residency training, pertaining to specialty field
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
• Current medical license in the state of Pennsylvania
• Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA)
• Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
• DEA License
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) to Four (4) years’ experience in psychiatry
• Experience in Healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Examine, Diagnose, treat, provide care to patients
• Direct, coordinate or supervise patient care activities of nursing or support services
• Order and interpret the results of tests
• Prescribe medication or treatment regimens and therapies
• Collaborate with health care professionals to plan and provide treatment
• Develop medical treatment plans
• Conduct discharge planning
• Participate in inpatient treatment teams
• Consultations
• Documentation in EMR
• Advise and educate patients and families on conditions and treatments
• Other duties as assigned
