About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join their team in Bethlehem, PA. This role involves administering medication and therapeutic treatments, monitoring patients, documenting behavior and vital signs, communicating with colleagues, filling resident charts, assisting with staff training, ordering medication refills, and acting as lead staff when administrators are unavailable. The position offers an hourly rate of $18.25 with enhanced pay options.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
  • Must be able to work 3p-11p full-time with weekends and holidays

  • Mental Health experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
  • Provide care in a manner that considers the patient’s rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
  • Observe, document and report resident behavior
  • Monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
  • Fill resident charts
  • Assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
  • Order refills of medications
  • Act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator
