About The Position

The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker provides Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PSR) both at a facility and in the community. The role involves facilitating groups and units to help individuals develop, enhance, and retain skills for living, learning, working, and socializing. The goal is to ensure individuals receive the necessary services and supports to live in their chosen environment. This position also includes monitoring and tracking the progress of individuals on an assigned caseload and participating in the development of individualized rehabilitation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, or Associates degree and 1 year work experience in mental health direct service, or CPS certification and 1 year paid or volunteer experience, or a High School diploma/GED and 2 years work experience in Human Services, which must include 1 year of mental health direct service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to complete a high volume of documentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Internet research abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of mental health system and supports.
  • Must be able to use public transportation to meet with members out in the community or in their homes.

Nice To Haves

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PSR) facility based and/or in the community as assigned.
  • Facilitate groups/units to enhance an individual’s knowledge to develop, enhance and retain skills and competencies in living, learning, working and socializing.
  • Help individuals receive the level of and/or have access to the services/supports they choose, so that an individual can live in the environment of their choice.
  • Monitor and track progress of individual’s in assigned caseload.
  • Participate in the development of individualized rehabilitation plans.
