About The Position

Join a groundbreaking behavioral health program making a meaningful impact in Washington State. Jamestown Salish Seasons (JSS) is proud to be the first tribally owned and operated Evaluation & Treatment (E&T) facility in Washington State. Our 16-bed, voluntary-only residential treatment facility is designed around a low-volume, high-quality care model, allowing providers the time and support needed to deliver compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care. We are seeking experienced and dedicated Psychiatric Providers to join our interdisciplinary team in a 24/7/365 behavioral health environment focused on crisis stabilization, recovery, and culturally responsive care.

Requirements

  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Current, unrestricted Washington State licensure
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a psychiatric provider
  • Knowledge of psychiatric diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication management best practices
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Knowledge of healthcare confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Knowledge of behavioral health documentation standards and EHR proficiency
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Cultural competence and commitment to inclusive, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience in psychiatric, inpatient, residential, or institutional behavioral health settings
  • Experience in crisis stabilization, Evaluation &Treatment (E&T), or acute behavioral health environments
  • Experience treating individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), co-occurring disorders, or complex behavioral health needs
  • Experience working with Tribal communities or culturally diverse populations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and intake screenings
  • Determine medical necessity for admission, continued stay, or discharge
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide crisis stabilization services for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral health crises
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and mood stabilizers
  • Ensure safe, evidence-based medication practices in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adherence
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate medication administration and documentation
  • Serve as the primary clinical decision-maker for psychiatric care within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing staff, therapists, and other clinical team members to support positive patient outcomes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination activities
  • Provide clinical guidance during urgent or emergent situations as appropriate
  • Review referrals and clinical documentation to determine patient eligibility and appropriateness for admission
  • Make final decisions regarding patient acceptance or redirection to alternative levels of care
  • Coordinate with referral sources, community partners, and internal staff to support smooth transitions
  • Ensure clinical practice complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including RCW, WAC, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QA/PI) activities
  • Support audits, chart reviews, and corrective action planning as needed
  • Provide culturally responsive psychiatric care that respects the values, traditions, and needs of Tribal communities and diverse patient populations
  • Collaborate with Tribal representatives and JSS leadership to integrate culturally informed practices into patient care
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and awareness in all clinical interactions
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours consultation as assigned to support 24/7/365 operations
  • Adhere to all Jamestown Salish Seasons and Jamestown HealthCARE E&T policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director
