About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. This role is on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit (John Pappajohn Pavillion - 1 JPW), a 15-bed inpatient unit serving patients aged 3-17 with conditions including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, intellectual disability, substance abuse, and ADHD. The unit offers structured therapy, including Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and features a Circle School, playground, and gym to enhance patient experience and outcomes.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Be a Certified Nursing Assistant
Have strong written communication skills with experience providing customer service relations
Previous patient care experience in a Mental Health setting is highly desired.
