About The Position

Behavioral Health Connections Georgia is recruiting a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for their Command Center located in Dunwoody, GA. Behavioral Health Connections was created to provide referring providers and patients with a single point of access to a full spectrum of behavioral health services in Atlanta. We offer referring providers ease of access 24/7 to refer patients to any level of care or specialty program within our network of affiliated providers. This is a non-patient-facing position working at a Behavioral Command Center in a 911 dispatch scenario. The role involves providing admission and initial medication orders, reviewing complicated patients, and determining the best facility for their care. The position is employed W2, full-time, with a Monday-Friday, 3 PM - 11 PM shift, 40 hours per week, and no call. The practice setting is in Dunwoody, GA, a desirable area of metro Atlanta known for its excellent schools, safe neighborhoods, and strong community atmosphere, with easy access to Atlanta's major medical centers, airport, and cultural amenities. UHS is a Fortune 500 healthcare organization with a nationwide network of acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, and outpatient programs, providing stability and consistent patient volume.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing with certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with one of the accredited National Certification Organizations (ANCC, AANP) is required.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Certification with a National Certification Board.
  • Unencumbered State of GA Licensed NP.

  • Expertise, or interest, in treating patients with mental illness and addictive disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admission orders and initial medication orders upon review of clinical fax packet for the patient from an ER when the patient is deemed appropriate for admission from the RN's initial review.
  • Review and determine for all complicated patients which one of our UHS stand-alone behavioral facilities will be the best option for the patient's care.
  • Collaborate with ER physicians, NPs, and support staff.
  • Document orders using Cerner.
