The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse 2. This position supports the Outpatient Clinics at the West Clinic for the PACT program. The incumbent is responsible for performing nursing activities as part of the medication clinic service delivery in addition to case management and field services. They will provide clinic services to ensure our mission to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life is met. Duties include assessing and identifying patient health care needs; creating care plans for case management; conducting case management in the community; making comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations; prepare nursing care plans; administering medications as prescribed by a physician or designee; monitoring patients for medication side effects and/or allergic reaction; providing crisis intervention; assisting in the development of safety plan recommendations for patients; and ensuring compliance with CMS standards, established laws, regulations, and SNAMHS policies. This position requires 50% or more travel within the city. Under general supervision of a higher level nurse, Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
