Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) / Hybrid
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a hybrid role with a multi-specialty practice in the Brooklyn, NY. This role involves conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing psychopharmacological evaluation and medication management, and offering psychotherapy and counseling. The PMHNP will also order and interpret diagnostic tests, maintain electronic medical records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team. Patient and family education, as well as participation in continuing education, are also key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program.
- Active and unrestricted NP license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Active Medicaid & Medicare provider status.
- At least 2 years experience as a PHMNP.
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
- Must be residing in the tri-state area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, including diagnosis of mental health and substance use disorders.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Provide psychopharmacological evaluation and medication management, including prescription of psychotropic medications.
- Utilize therapeutic communication to provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals across the lifespan.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results as needed to support diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and mental health wellness.
- Participate in case conferences, clinical supervision, and continuing education to ensure the highest standard of care.
