About The Position

MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Augusta Family Medicine practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about providing integrated behavioral health care within a primary care setting. The PMHNP will serve as a clinical leader within the practice, delivering direct psychiatric care while working closely with primary care providers, case management, and counseling staff. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, enjoys a fast‑paced outpatient environment, and is committed to improving access to high‑quality mental health services.

Requirements

• Current PMHNP certification
• Licensure to practice in the state of Maine
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to care

Nice To Haves

• Experience in outpatient psychiatry or integrated behavioral health preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish diagnoses
• Prescribe, adjust, and manage psychiatric medications
• Collaborate with primary care clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health counselors to support coordinated patient care
• Participate in individual or group‑based Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, depending on interest
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, supporting decision‑making and treatment planning
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts within the practice
