About The Position

Blackbird Health is a clinician-founded, owned, and operated company dedicated to providing the best possible care for children by building the best possible team. We deliver virtual and in-person mental health services across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey, with plans for market expansion. Our approach focuses on the whole child, addressing the root causes of challenges by examining the interaction between the brain, body, and behavior. This is a fully remote position, open to qualified candidates across the United States, provided they hold an active Pennsylvania PMHNP/APRN, State Prescriptive Authority, and DEA license.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during peak 'after school hours' (after 4 pm ET weekdays) or any time on weekends.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • PMHNP-BC certification.
  • At least two years of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
  • Experience as a PMHNP working with ages 2 and above.
  • Active Pennsylvania PMHNP/APRN license.
  • Active DEA license.
  • Active State Prescriptive Authority.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • Build meaningful connections with patients and families to support treatment engagement, understand needs, educate on care options, and provide ongoing support.
  • Ensure patients are progressing towards their care goals and take necessary steps to maintain patient safety.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Intervene proactively when safety concerns arise.
  • Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans.
  • Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
  • Provide consultation and education to patients and families.
  • Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
  • Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant records of patient meetings and progress.
  • Perform other clinical-related activities as assigned.
