About The Position

The position is for an attending psychiatrist who has an active medical license and is board certified or board eligible. The position requires four 8-hour shifts per week with 8 hours of administrative time evenings until midnight, and on weekends regularly. Holidays will also need to be covered, and the applicant will be expected to help with this. The attending psychiatrist will diagnose, treat, and disposition psychiatric patients who are in need of acute mental health treatment. The possible presentations include, but are not limited to, acute psychosis, drug or alcohol intoxication, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, relationship conflicts, aggression, and medication refill. An attending psychiatrist can expect to supervise trainees and to see patients on their own if necessary. In addition, the attending psychiatrist will see medical issues on 13A and 13B. It is expected that once the schedule is published, the psychiatrist will fulfill his or her assigned shifts or find someone to replace them. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
