The Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP/PMHNP) provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. Working collaboratively within an integrated behavioral healthcare team, this position delivers patient-centered care across outpatient and inpatient settings while supporting coordinated treatment planning, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and evidence-based practices. The ARNP contributes to Prairie Ridge's mission by promoting recovery, improving access to quality behavioral healthcare, and helping individuals achieve lasting wellness.

Requirements

Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license in the State of Iowa.
Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
Current DEA registration and Iowa Controlled Substance Registration with prescriptive authority.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to complete accurate clinical documentation.
Proficiency in the use of electronic health records and other healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and delivery of psychiatric ARNP services at Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare
Perform psychiatric care duties, including conducting histories and physical examinations; ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests; prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments; implementing interventions; and monitoring treatment effectiveness.
Complete documentation, coding, authorizations, and billing activities in accordance with generally accepted medical standards.
Collaborate and coordinate care with the Prairie Ridge treatment team to develop and implement appropriate behavioral health treatment plans for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Understand and utilize Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the treatment of substance use disorders, as appropriate.
Participate in research as requested.
Monitor and initiate processes that promote cost-effective and efficient delivery of care.
Participate in on-call duties as requested.
Advise and assist in the coordination of staff wellness activities.
Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with all CARF, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 standards, policies, and procedures.
Participate in activities necessary to support the development and implementation of coordinated care initiatives at Prairie Ridge.
Other duties as defined by supervisor.
