About The Position
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health environment. The Psych RN will collaborate with psychiatrists, providers, social workers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the applicable state.
- Minimum 1 year of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience caring for patients with mental health and behavioral health conditions.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and respond appropriately during crisis situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, if required by the facility.

- Previous hospital or behavioral health facility experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in mental and physical status.
- Administer medications safely and monitor patients for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor patients for behavioral changes, safety concerns, and potential risks.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for patients.
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes accurately in the EMR.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Follow facility policies, behavioral health protocols, infection-control standards, and patient safety procedures.
