About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Psych RN for the Dual Diagnosis, Evenings shift. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a global leader in teaching, discovery, and patient care. The hired individual will work on the VPH Adult CSL Team E, applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. They will effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team, collaborate in establishing patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards. This is a 24-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, caring for adult patients aged 18 and older with various psychiatric illnesses, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance misuse disorders.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved discipline program
1 year of RN experience
Active RN license
Relevant Work Experience

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
