About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Psych Registered Nurse for their Adolescent Program. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. The position also requires engaging in continuous learning activities as per Board of Nursing standards. The unit environment is a therapeutic milieu focused on teamwork and individualized care for patients aged 4 to 18 with various psychiatric illnesses. The role involves four 8-hour shifts per week, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, totaling 32 hours, including some weekends.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved discipline program
- 1 year RN experience
- Active RN license
- LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
- Relevant Work Experience

Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
