About The Position

Correctional Healthcare Partners is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals in correctional facilities. The role focuses on meeting patients’ mental health needs with compassion and professionalism and contributing to their overall health and well-being. This PRN position covers East Mesa and Youth Transition Campus, two juvenile facilities, and is performed in person.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment techniques and treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations for patients in correctional settings.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Prescribe medications, monitor their effectiveness, and manage side effects.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Educate patients and staff about mental health issues and treatment options.
