About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a psychiatric nurse practitioner or psychiatric physician for its Eastern Shore location in Maryland. The role provides medical care and medication management to clients receiving treatment for substance use and related behavioral health conditions. The position works with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate client care and maintain accurate documentation.

Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore is a 100-bed residential facility offering inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The facility is located on 7.74 acres of secluded property and has a newly renovated building with amenities. Its multidisciplinary staff includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors, and behavioral health technicians.

Requirements

• Unrestricted PMH-NP or Psych PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
• Valid state medical license.
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
• CPR certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management throughout each client's treatment.
• Provide medical care to stabilize patients and support their engagement in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Document medical interventions, consultations, and directives thoroughly.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
