About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities in Collingwood and Penetanguishene. This role involves providing care to clients, with shifts varying from mornings to evenings to overnights, including every other weekend. Requirements

• 2 plus years experience
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• PSW certification required
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Drivers License and own insured vehicle is mandatory
• Satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters

Nice To Haves

• CPI training is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned
• Follow Care Plan
• ADL's
• Clear and detailed care notes
