About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in Huntsville, Alabama. The role is based in a Patient Service Center or client office and involves skilled specimen collection, patient service, and related administrative work. The phlebotomist will serve as a face of the company and may have opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch. Travel to additional sites may be needed. The position requires full COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations. Phlebotomists may be eligible to participate in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
• When substituting certification or training for work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
