PSA Grader, NJ
About The Position
Collectors is hiring PSA Graders to authenticate and grade sports, non-sports, and trading card game (TCG) cards. The role calls for comprehensive knowledge of trading cards and related collectibles, expertise in PSA’s authentication and grading standards, and the ability to contribute experience and depth to the Grading Team. Graders are expected to work accurately and efficiently, meet individual daily production goals, maintain product quality, and build their knowledge through research and experience. The position reports to the Director of Grading and is based onsite at the Jersey City office five days per week.
Requirements
- Firsthand knowledge of trading cards, tickets, and other sports, non-sports, and TCG collectibles.
- Expert knowledge of counterfeit and card-doctoring methods across card categories.
- Expert-level understanding of card grading systems and standards.
- Strong research skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity.
- Ability to work in a positive team environment.
- Detail orientation and ability to focus for extended periods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- One to three years of direct grading experience as a professional, dealer, or collector.
Responsibilities
- Apply expert knowledge of PSA card authentication and grading standards.
- Apply expert knowledge of PSA processing procedures and protocols.
- Authenticate and evaluate trading cards in an expedient manner without compromising accuracy, based on PSA business needs.
- Meet individual daily grading production goals.
- Improve knowledge and skills through personal research and experience.
- Stay current on industry developments and news, particularly new counterfeits and alteration methods.
- Maintain the quality of grading products.
- Share knowledge to help improve the PSA Grading Team’s skills.
- Participate in monthly meetings and retraining sessions as needed to develop skills and hobby knowledge.
