About The Position

The Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager (PSA Compliance Manager) plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies aimed at preventing sexual abuse and harassment. This position involves creating and enforcing policies, conducting training programs, and introducing measures to raise awareness, secure a safe environment, and deter sexual misconduct. The Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager ensures compliance with state laws, ORR requirements, accreditation standards, and VisionQuest policies, reporting directly to the Program Director. Collaborating closely with management teams, this role is responsible for leading staff training sessions and advocating for continual program improvements. Furthermore, the Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager is tasked with ensuring consistent implementation and adherence to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) on the prevention, detection, and response to sexual abuse and harassment. This position demands a flexible, organized, and efficient work ethic, including readiness to work additional hours, weekends, and to be on-call as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or Social Services Fields.
  • 1-year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, or quality assurance or compliance.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Cleared tuberculosis test results.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to provide proof of required vaccinations.
  • Cleared background checks from appropriate entities, including Child Abuse and Neglect and FBI criminal background.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce facility compliance with state, federal, and VisionQuest policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to the Interim Final Rule on UC Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment standards.
  • Stay updated on PSA policies, procedures, and ORR guidelines, especially Section 4 of ORR’s MAPs and policy guide.
  • Support department leads in completing audits as needed.
  • Complete audits to monitor compliance as needed.
  • Create and implement corrective action plans post-audit.
  • Perform facility walkthroughs to identify and communicate improvement areas for compliance.
  • Promptly report and resolve facility maintenance issues.
  • Ensure unannounced visits occur as required.
  • Complete frequent, unannounced visits during both day and night shifts to identify and deter sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
  • Foster a facility climate which condemns sexual abuse, sexual harassment, inappropriate sexual behavior, any other type of abuse and retaliation.
  • Present age-appropriate orientation material describing child’s rights, definitions and examples of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, inappropriate sexual behavior, and coercive behaviors, as well as warning signs of abuse, and who children can reach out to for help and how.
  • Establish partnerships with local child advocacy centers, rape crisis centers, immigrant victim service providers, and other service providers as needed to provide victims with sensitive care, resources, and support.
  • Identify training needs and provide development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and integrate company policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently finalize and distribute staff reports, action plans, evaluations, and needs assessments to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Respond to crisis calls, ensuring safety and continuation of critical tasks.
  • Conduct PSA related investigations as needed.
  • Report all abuse or neglect allegations to the proper authorities and follow-up on incident reports.
  • Investigate complaints or grievances from children.
  • Follow up on SIR/CLE’s related to PSA.
  • Adhere to mandated reporting requirements.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
