About The Position

Students will be in directed research with faculty/staff and in conversation with one another, during an Academic Year. Planning Grant Fellows will study the University of Notre Dame’s DELTA framework and the practices of fellowship and discernment to suggest a set of guidelines and the beginnings of a student-determined framework for a practical and ethical engagement with Artificial Intelligence as scholars at St. Olaf College. The goal is a student-led, campus-wide dialogue on ethical engagement with generative and agentic AI.

Requirements

• Required to be a student in good standing academically.
• Required to use Google Calendar.
• Must be available evenings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff and faculty advisors, provost, and fellow student workers to create space for meetings and planning.
• Execute a final symposium along with the rest of the team that will engage the entire campus.
• Manage, schedule, and prioritize meetings throughout the year to accomplish goals of each group and keep up with email communications.
• Present ideas to fellow students, faculty/staff advisors, and the provost.
• Organize and execute a symposium to engage with the whole campus.
• Develop tools and talking points for exploration and communication and determine next steps as a student-body while at St. Olaf, and as ethical and informed citizens as they enter the world of work or graduate study.
