About The Position

The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is looking for a Provincial Projects and Initiatives Lead – North in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Associate Director – Provincial Projects and Initiatives, the Provincial Projects and Initiatives Lead – North will be responsible for supporting the implementation, oversight, monitoring, and evaluation of provincial projects and initiatives. The Provincial Project and Initiatives Lead - North provides operational leadership for provincial initiatives by supporting program implementation, monitoring project performance, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with organizational and funding requirements. Working collaboratively with internal departments, regional teams, and external partners, the Provincial Project and Initiatives Lead - North helps ensure provincial initiatives align with the department of Education, Training, and Research’s mandate, strategic priorities, and annual operating plan. This position focuses on project oversight, stakeholder engagement, funding accountability, and operational implementation.

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Office Administration, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in project coordination, administration, or program support.
Experience supporting complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and fast-paced operational environments.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work a regular schedule Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with weekend and evening availability, as required.
Ability to travel throughout Alberta, as required.
Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Acceptable attainment of a Police Information Check is required.

Responsibilities

Support the operational implementation and oversight of provincial projects and initiatives in alignment with organizational priorities and approved workplans.
Support the Regional Management Team (RMT) in the implementation of the Métis Youth Summer Student Program, the Employment Partnership Program, and the Employment Supports.
Monitor project activities, deliverables, outcomes, and timelines to support effective project execution and accountability.
Support the development and implementation of workforce development and training initiatives that advance the Department of Education, Training, and Research’s Métis Training to Employment mandate.
Conduct research and gather labour market information, community feedback, and stakeholder input to support program planning and continuous improvement.
Identify operational challenges, project risks, and service gaps and provide recommendations to leadership.
Support project evaluation activities and outcome measurement processes.
Ensure project information is accurately inputted into FDM and provide quality assurance support to the RMT for regional level projects, MYSSP, EPP, and ESP.
Monitor project expenditures and funding utilization to support compliance with approved budgets, contribution agreements, and organizational policies.
Review project claims, invoices, and supporting documentation for compliance and funding eligibility.
Support the creation, implementation, and monitoring of contribution agreements, contracts, and partnership agreements related to provincial projects and initiatives.
Ensure project activities and documentation align with reporting requirements, funding agreements, and organizational standards.
Support audit preparation and funding compliance activities as required.
Support the Associate Director – Provincial Projects & Initiatives in maintaining collaborative working relationships with the METI-Services teams, government representatives, post-secondary institutions, industry partners, contractors, community organizations and other stakeholders as required.
Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, partnership discussions, and interdepartmental collaboration related to provincial initiatives.
Represent provincial projects and initiatives in meetings, community engagement activities, and partnership discussions as required.
Support collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and effective implementation of provincial programming.
Monitor project performance and perform the collection of project data, outcomes, and performance indicators, providing analysis as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to program delivery, project accountability, and project efficacy in terms or reported outcomes that align with ISET program targets.
Present to stakeholders on Provincial Project & Initiatives when requested by the Associate Director- Provincial Projects & Initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Other duties as required or assigned.
