About The Position

This role is for a Prototype Trim Technician in the Seat Laboratory. The position requires a strong background in seat trim sewing and upholstery, with the ability to work with complex patterns and assemble complete seats. The technician will be responsible for ensuring high quality and consistency in their work, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in seat trim sewing, upholstery, automotive interiors, furniture upholstery, or closely related manufacturing/production work.
  • Proven ability to cut and sew complex trim patterns to tight tolerances.
  • Experience assembling complete seats or similar upholstered assemblies from component level to finished product.
  • Proficiency operating industrial sewing machines and related equipment (cutters, skivers, binders, sergers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret patterns, drawings, work instructions, and digital layouts.
  • Comfortable using basic manufacturing systems and interfaces, including: Pattern or nesting software (Optitex or equivalent), HMI screens or terminals for work orders and production tracking, Basic reporting and quality documentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail in stitch quality, seam alignment, and overall appearance.
  • Ability to self-inspect work and correct defects at the source.
  • Strong commitment to quality and consistency.
  • Ability to identify fit, finish, and functional issues and resolve them with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production).
  • Strong communication skills in a production environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move seat components and materials within safe limits.

Responsibilities
