About The Position

Menasha Corporation is seeking a Prototype Technician to prepare prototype tools for producing samples. This role involves operating various processing equipment, collaborating with designers, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring the quality and safety of operations. The technician will also be involved in continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate various pieces of processing equipment (drill, press brake, sheer, etc.).
  • Ability to work with designers to review samples for fit and function.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics.
  • Ability to inspect completed welds for structural soundness.
  • Ability to start up and shut down machines properly.
  • Ability to consistently and safely operate machines at or above standards of operation (waste, quality, efficiency, utilization).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct machine/rack-related problems.
  • Proficiency in using personal protective equipment and safety devices.
  • Knowledge of STW documentation and proper training techniques.
  • Active involvement in Continuous Improvement, CI, 5S, and STW activities.
  • Ability to contribute to a team effort.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various pieces of processing equipment to complete sample, including drill, press brake, sheer, etc.
  • Work with designer to review sample and ensure from fit and function.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
  • Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  • Start up and shut down machines properly.
  • Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine/rack -related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
  • Contribute to a team effort.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
