About The Position

Centro is seeking an experienced Prototype Technician to support the development and initial production of new products. This hands-on position works closely with Project Engineering and Manufacturing to prepare molds, establish molding parameters, troubleshoot issues, evaluate prototype parts, and document results. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rotational molding professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping move products successfully from the prototype stage into production.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, hoists, torches, gauges, calipers, scales, and related equipment.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to perform basic math and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear technical reports.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other associates.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn Microsoft Office and Centro-specific applications.

Nice To Haves

Five years of machine-operation is highly preferred.
Additional manufacturing experience or education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor incoming mold shipments and communicate delivery concerns.
Coordinate new mold meetings with Engineering and Manufacturing.
Evaluate mold condition and document necessary work.
Assist with mold preparation, scheduling, and mounting.
Prepare run sheets for prototype production runs.
Establish, monitor, and document molding parameters.
Troubleshoot molding, tooling, and product-quality concerns.
Evaluate prototype parts for wall thickness, dimensions, color, surface quality, structural requirements, component placement, and fit.
Perform wall maps and work with the Project Engineer to adjust shot weight.
Document run results, special procedures, changes, and recommendations.
Enter completed production information into the MRP system.
Support other Engineering and Manufacturing activities as needed.
