About The Position

Design, develop, and execute proof-of-concepts and advanced prototype samples supporting engineering in the creation of new products / technologies. Support engineering, program management, sales, and marketing in commercial demonstrations of Gentex products.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in electronic systems and prototype development.
  • Hands-on automotive experience and strong trouble-shooting capabilities.
  • Ability to process through networking with technical focus areas in the creation of systems.
  • Maintain a high level of company loyalty, confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
  • Requires a person who is highly self-motivated and demonstrates good people skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Gentex proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and demonstrable properties highlighting core technologies and advanced feature development.
  • Execute advanced prototype samples with the highest quality possible to best represent the organization and consistent with the strategic direction set forth by Gentex leadership.
  • Execute integration of vehicle-level test environments to ensure proper testing, verification, and validation.
  • Support international offices with engineering needs for product demonstration and data collection.
  • Interface with Program Management, Sales, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Applied Materials, Chemistry, and Marketing departments to support the demonstration of Gentex products.
  • Maintain knowledge of company electrical, mechanical, test, and manufacturing practices and engineer consistent with them.
  • Maintain resources within the engineering vehicle fleet, model shop/garage facilities, and rapid prototype equipment.
  • Avoid company politics and promote cooperation and consensus teamwork for the common good of all employees across all departments.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Maintain a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
