Prototype Build Engineer
About The Position
The Prototype Build Engineer supports prototype build and validation programs, coordinating complex builds and working with cross-functional teams. The role is fully onsite at CTC and involves working independently, managing priorities, and taking ownership of projects through successful completion. The engineering team has approximately 20 engineers and technical professionals who collaborate closely. New team members receive guidance and support and are progressively assigned more complex projects as they gain experience. Typical hours are 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position follows a standard 40-hour work week, with no regular overtime expected and no travel required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels across multiple functions and departments.
- Technical knowledge of engine and/or battery components and systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform effectively with minimal supervision.
- Self-starter with a proactive, motivated approach and strong problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous automotive industry experience, preferably with an OEM or automotive supplier.
- Manufacturing experience in a related environment.
- Experience using Teamcenter or similar CAD/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Experience creating build documentation, assembly instructions, visual work instructions, bills of material, and technical process documentation.
- Familiarity with extracting component images and engineering data from CAD systems to create detailed build books and assembly illustrations.
