About The Position

Our client, an automotive company, is seeking a Prototype Build Engineer for its Auburn Hills, Michigan location. This is an entry point for early-career engineers, with a preference for recent graduates and candidates who want to grow within the organization. Relevant internship or co-op experience is beneficial.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
Basic knowledge of vehicle build processes.
Basic knowledge of CATIA V5 and/or NX and TeamCenter.
Strong leadership, communication, and program management skills.
Fluency in Microsoft Office applications and comfort preparing presentations and presenting to all levels of management.
Target experience is 0–3 years; the posting also describes a range of 0–5 years and says candidates with at most 1–2 years of work experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead part procurement and supplier issue resolution across multiple programs.
Provide prototype design support.
Create bills of materials (BOMs).
Create process sheets for build operators.
Resolve build-floor issues affecting quality, engineering design, manufacturing processes, and timing.
