Protocol Solutions Engineer

TechChain Talent•Austin, TX

About The Position

Etherealize is building financial infrastructure that brings Wall Street onto Ethereum. The company’s core privacy protocol, built with Rust and zero-knowledge technology, is maturing into a stable foundation. The Protocol Solutions Engineer will own the work of building applications and solutions on top of that protocol, translating client needs into working on-chain systems. This is an application and protocol engineering role, not a cryptography research position. The engineer will develop privacy-native financial applications, integrate external partners with Etherealize’s privacy infrastructure, and connect its private environment with public Ethereum and existing DeFi protocols. The role involves solving novel problems, making protocol and design decisions with incomplete information, and establishing engineering patterns for a new programming model. The position requires close collaboration with the team during US or European hours.

Requirements

  • A track record as a senior engineer or security researcher, with deep familiarity with the EVM, Solidity, and DeFi.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in novel, non-standard programming environments and build from first principles.
  • Experience working with ZK or privacy protocols, or comfort learning the quirks of a new protocol; ZK expertise is not required.
  • Strong protocol thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound design judgment when information is incomplete.
  • Willingness to work US or European hours to collaborate closely with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Translate traditional financial infrastructure into privacy-native on-chain protocols and build solutions for those markets.
  • Work with external partners to integrate them with Etherealize’s privacy infrastructure and develop custom components for their needs.
  • Build bridges between Etherealize’s private environment and public Ethereum.
  • Understand and use existing protocols as building blocks to address client needs.
  • Turn client requirements into working protocols and applications, including privacy-native lending, custom asset implementations, and custodian integrations.
  • Take ownership of application development on top of the core privacy protocol and establish patterns for future engineers.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision healthcare.
  • 401(k).
  • Generous PTO.
