About The Position

Join Apple’s Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems organization and work with multidisciplinary teams to develop cellular technologies and products used by millions of people worldwide. The Cellular Software team develops and improves cellular technologies for iPhone, iPad, Watch, and other wireless product lines, with a focus on keeping users connected and improving the user experience. Engineers may work across cellular protocol software layers, including SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces, and contribute to software designs as well as new approaches to the cellular ecosystem. The role requires expertise across multiple cellular protocol layers and experience with UE and/or network protocol development for various 3GPP technologies. The position will impact iPhone users worldwide.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree.
• Critical expertise in multiple cellular protocol layers.
• Experience with UE and/or network protocol development for various 3GPP technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in cellular protocols or wireless software development.
• Experience in Non Access Stratum (NAS).

Responsibilities

• Identify and/or develop core cellular technologies that address customer needs.
• Develop cellular protocol software across layers, including SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces.
